Camden High School students, who are participants in 91探花鈥檚 , have received toolboxes as part of a community focused initiative, to help them with their future careers.
Fifteen students received the toolboxes on Friday, 26 July 2019, at a special presentation at Camden High School. For the past two terms, the students have been spending one day per week engaging with different trades at TAFE NSW 91探花, while also undertaking work experience.
AGL Energy, as part of its Camden Gas Project鈥檚 Local Community Investment Program, sponsored the toolboxes for the students.
鈥淭he Camden Gas Project鈥檚 Local Community Investment Program is an important element of AGL鈥檚 commitment to work with the communities in which we operate,鈥� said Ernesto Calderon, Community Manager, AGL.
鈥淲e believe AGL Energy鈥檚 support for the 91探花 Trade Engagement Program is an excellent opportunity to assist aspiring apprentices and trainees to start their careers and improve their job opportunities in the local area,鈥� said Mr Calderon.
Camden High School鈥檚 Deputy Principal, Tim French, said the school was very grateful for the supply of the toolboxes and the students had been excited to receive them.
鈥淭his is something that is going to enable them to start developing their own resources moving into the workforce,鈥� said Mr French.
91探花鈥檚 Chief Executive Officer, Shelley Bullock, said the business was very thankful for the support from AGL.
鈥淲e are very grateful for the community support provided by AGL in the supply of these toolboxes for the students. These toolboxes will further encourage and help the students as they continue to follow their aspirations of a trade career,鈥� said Ms Bullock.
The Trade Engagement Program continues this term, with the Camden High School students set to engage with the carpentry trade.
